22…For we are to live our lives with pure hearts in the constant awe and wonder of our Lord God. 23 Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others.
Brian Simmons, trans., The Passion Translation (BroadStreet Publishing, 2017), Col 3:23.
God is our Father and we are his children. He hasn’t designed us to leave the place of wonder in our lives. We are designed to deeply enjoy him and to live carefree in this life.
Sounds like a dream?
Then believe the gospel. I invite you to throw all your burdens on the Lord and come to him as a child. Just be with him as He takes care of every issue in your life. He may lead you, but this will start in the place of rest.
You have left childlikeness to the degree that you live anxiously, doubting the provision and care of God in your life. If he treats the sparrows kindly, how much more will he treat you gracefully?
Be a child again.
Be imitators of God in everything you do, for then you will represent your Father as his beloved sons and daughters. 2 And continue to walk surrendered to the extravagant love of Christ, for he surrendered his life as a sacrifice for us. His great love for us was pleasing to God, like an aroma of adoration—a sweet healing fragrance.
Brian Simmons, trans., The Passion Translation (BroadStreet Publishing, 2017), Eph 5:1–2.
